|Description:||…..On the Saturday afternoon of Barnstaple Fair, various stalls and entertainments fill in The Square, from where the carnival starts at 6.00pm. This glittering procession, featuring the winning floats from many other West Country carnivals, plus various marching bands, pipers, majorettes, etc., takes about 1 hours to circle the town centre. Two good places to watch it pass are in The Strand and in Boutport Street.
All the floats will be collecting money for the Carnival’s charities.
A spectacular and loud fireworks display is loosed over the River Taw from Anchor Bank at about 8.15pm.
